Our prices are quite competitive with those you will find in Knoxville and you’ll save the gas money. Our independent practitioner licensed therapists are knowledgeable & experienced, and the environment is beautiful & peaceful. Most of the Center practitioners have subtle energy healing training in modalities such as Reiki and Healing Touch. They can integrate this work into the massage or bodywork process. We like to think of the Ayurveda Center as providing very professional healthcare services in a spa-like environment.
Following is a description of the three main types of services we offer: Swedish or Relaxation Massage, Therapeutic or Deep Tissue Massage, and Hot Stone Therapy. Following the description is a chart of the prices that the practitioners follow. Most health care insurance policies to not reimburse massage, but one can often use flexible medical spending account dollars in this way. Check with your employer.
Therapeutic/Deep Tissue Massage
The goal of therapeutic massage is to address health and structural issues, as well as the promotion of generalized health. Typically the practitioner uses multiple specialized massage modalities to address problems with injured or diseased tissue. Examples are muscular, tendon or ligament pain and injuries, fibromyalgia, arthritis, headache, whiplash, etc. Methods used might include neuromuscular, myofascial release, deep tissue release, and contrast therapies. For injuries on the job or in an accident, some of the Center therapists will take Workman’s Comp or Motor Vehicle Insurance cases. Please call for more information.
Swedish/Relaxation Massage
Using some longer strokes with less pressure, this type of massage typically covers the body, including neck, shoulders, back, and limbs. Swedish promotes relaxation, improved circulation, mobility of joints, improved immune function, and general well being. Inducing the relaxation response can keep stress within a manageable range, decreasing symptoms of anxiety, insomnia, depression, generalized physical pain such as osteoarthritis.
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy is a technique that uses a combination of massage and heated stones. It is wonderfully relaxing and healing. The heat of the stones affects the nervous system, increases blood and lymph circulation, and results in changes at the cellular, tissue and organ system levels of the body. Stone healing is ancient and belongs to the Earth element for grounding and stability. The heated stones are placed on the body as well as being used to massage the body. The massage oil may have herbs or essential oils, the absorption of which is also facilitated by the heat of the stones.
